Do You Hear That Sucking Sound?

Does anyone remember back in 1992 Ross Perot saying "Do you hear that sucking sound?  That's jobs going to Mexico."

Perot's  statement was made about President Bill Clinton's free trade policy with Mexico.

President Clinton started the free trade policies that both Democrats and Republicans alike are still practicing today.  Can someone please explain why the policy is so good for the U.S.A?

AS I SEE IT:  I can hear that 'sucking sound'.  Our country has been loosing job's every since Free Trade started.  It may be good for the rest of the world, but certainly not for the U.S. Labor force or the middle class working American.

Congressional Oath

Congressional members have taken an oath to protect and defend the constitution of the United States Of America, yet they passed Obama Care at least the Democrats did.

AS I SEE IT:  The only thing that the congressional members protect and defend are their own ass-its.

Russia's New Technology

August 2009 the government awarded $118.5 million dollars in stimulus money to the ENER1 battery company. ENER1 battery company was supposed to be the wave of the future according to Joe Biden in January of 2011.  At that time Biden said the company employed 80 people.  One year later, January 2012 ENER1 went bankrupt with $90 million in dept, AFTER using up $54.9 million of the awarded stimulus, plus more $$$$$$ that the state and city gave the company. Two branches of our military, Army and Navy, tried to help by giving ENER1 contracts for batteries and other material's for the unmanned aerial vehicles.

Now ENER1 is owned by a Russian businessman who purchased the company from bankruptcy.

AS I SEE IT:  Russia no longer has to steal technology from us.  Obama and Biden will use our tax dollar to invent the technology then sell it to Russia on the cheep.

Food Stamps For Votes

Have you seen the ad on TV encouraging people to apply for food stamps?  This ad is implying that the government owes it to them.  No wonder the Cato institute reported a 41% increase in welfare since Obama took office.

AS I SEE IT:  People who truly need this assistance should receive the help. But this TV add is nothing more than a campaign ad looking to buy votes with my Taxes instead of buying FOOD for the program.....  What do you think?

Welfare Programs Up 41%

I was watching 'America Live' today on Fox news. They reported that the Cato Institute released a new report about welfare spending.   Anti poverty programs  are up 41% since Obama took office.  Federal & State combined, spends $20,610 per person equaling $61,830 for a family of 3 per year.

AS I SEE IT:  A lot of people I know do NOT make 61,830 per year and have more than 3 in their family.  So where is this welfare money being spent? People that really need assistance should get it, I am pretty sure that no family of 3 is getting 61,830 in welfare programs so where is the money ? Talk about a waste!

Posing with the Enemy

I am listening to the news media who have been repeatedly  condemning our troops for posing

with and taking pictures of the suicide bombers.  The same Enemy who just moments before

tried to kill our troops along with themselves.

 AS I SEE IT:  No one should condemn our troops actions unless they themselves have been on the battle field and in combat.

AS A FOOT NOTE: Why in the Blue Blazes does the news media constantly show the photos in the first place?  Are they trying to get our troops killed?

Bail Out of GM & Chrysler

Obama and Biden have stated that the auto company bail out of GM and  Chrysler saved 1,000,000 jobs.  What percent of  the cars are made in the USA?

CHEVY CAMARO:  Built in Canada

GMC SIERRA:  Built in Mexico

CADILLAC SRX & ESCALADE:  Built in Mexico

The list goes on and on.......

 AS I SEE IT:  Yes the bail out did save over a million jobs, BUT IN WHAT COUNTRY?

Singing Obama & Dancing Hillary

Why is it OK for Obama to have beer at the meetings in the White House, go on campaign fund raisers and sing for the audience and generally have a good time,  BUT it isn't OK for Hillary to kick back and have a beer & dance while she is in South America??

AS I SEE IT:  Every adult should have the right to a beer and some fun once in a while.

Do We Really Have A Supreme Court?

The news media is talking about the Supreme Court and Obama care.  They are stating that the 4 democratic appointees will vote in favor of it, and the 4 republican appointees will vote against it.  That leaves only 1 independent.  Isn't the Supreme Court supposed to be totally independent and not associated with any party?

AS I SEE IT:  If the Judges on the Supreme Court are still affiliated with their political parties that elected them, then they are no more than puppets.  So then we really DO NOT have the third

power of government to protect us.

28th Amendment of The Constitution

Proposed 28th Amendment to the United States Constitution: "Congress shall make no law that applies to the citizens of the United States that does not apply equally to the Senators and/or Representatives; and, Congress shall make no law that applies to the Senators and/or Representatives that does not apply equally to the citizens of the United States."

AS I SEE IT, the Congressmen and the Senators are doing
a really good job of taking care of themselves but not the people of this great country.

Who is Obama Working For?

Yesterday (3-29-12) Obama said  that the big oil companies are making HUGE profits so lets tax them more, making them the highest big business tax in the USA!  The oil companies produce a lot of their oil right here at home and refine most of it here also.  Now we have Apple who makes HUGE profits also and almost all of their product is produced in China and sold here in the USA.  Is he talking about taxing Apple?

AS I SEE IT:  He is looking out for China.  WHO IS HE WORKING FOR?

Taxes / Pump Prices

This morning Obama stated that he wants to tax the oil company's at a higher rate than any other business.  He referred to the big oil company's, but did NOT mention that a lot of the new oil being produced in the US  is not part of the well established big oil company's.

These smaller oil company's would also be subject to the higher tax.  This tax that he is talking about would eliminate the wright offs on the new equipment purchased.  The majority of this equipment is made in the USA and if this write off tax is imposed the smaller oil company's would not have the necessary funds to purchase more equipment.

AS I SEE IT...Less equipment = Less drilling = Higher pump prices.

NEW EPA REGULATIONS

I live in Northern MI.  We have a CO-OP for electric power.  I was reading in our monthly magazine that my power costs are going up.  New EPA regulations on power plants will force some coal fired units to shut down.  The CO-OP helped build coal fired plants between 1975 to 1986 when using natural gas was prohibited by the federal power plant and industrial fuel use act.  Now the government wants to regulate these plants out of existence and replace them with what?

AS I SEE IT  This administration and the government in general doesn't know what they are  doing and they are COSTING all of us more money and we are losing  more jobs.

The Old Vegetable Cart

Michelle Obama said that if someone wants to get a head of lettuce and make a salad they should not have to get on a bus to go buy it.

I live in the rural north and if I want to have a salad I have to drive 20 miles round trip.  Now if I want fresh , well then it can be a 76 mile round trip, or I can grow it myself.

AS I SEE IT  Michelle wants to bring back the  ol' vegetable man to deliver to your home.  YEA MORE JOBS!

VERBAL ASSAULT ON CHILDREN

I believe in free speech, but when it is at the expense of innocent little children it should be considered child abuse.

The remarks that were clearly directed  (along with their pictures) on national TV by Bill Maher and a few others should at the very least be considered bullying.

Why do we sit back on our couches and watch this verbal assault  against innocent & handicapped children and DO NOTHING ABOUT IT???

If it were your child would it be different???

If it were in another country, would there be an out cry from us to have this group of people held accountable for the raping of our children's dignity???

$16,000 Gasoline

Obama stated in his speech today at the Daimler truck factory in N.C. that the average family spends $16,000 a year on gasoline.  And that is at today's cost of less than $4.00 per gallon, in most states.

According to the internet, today's  average family of 3 people make $49,440 per year. 

AS I SEE IT:  It takes 2 people working to make the $49,440 yearly income per family.

Now Minus $9,000 in taxes.....

Minus $12,000 for housing and basic utilities.....
Minus $10,000 for food....
Assuming a 2 car family:
Minus $1,500 for car insurance.....
Minus $1,500 per year for tires, oil & car repairs.....
Minus $6,000 per year on car payments....

That only leaves $9,440 for everything else....child care....clothing...phone....internet...cable TV...etc...etc...

So I would like to know where he got the $16,000

per year estimate from?

Drill Baby Drill!

Today's gasoline prices are high and going higher.

Sarah says "Drill Baby Drill"
Newt says $2.50 a gallon so "Drill Baby Drill"!
Barack says "NO"  to the Canadian oil,
we need high prices it will make the Greens comeback.

YEA to Barack Obama and the other Democrats, $10.00 a gallon after election.

Military Health Care

The Obama's defense budget for our military personal, both active & retired, will see a raise in their health care premiums of up to 345% over the next 5 years.  Also ALL military personal (retired & active) will be subjected to means testing.  (Means Testing = paying for your own insurance if you can afford it.)

Today Feb 29, 2012 Congressman Adam Smith stated that even with the increases, the Military's insurance will be "VASTLY SUPERIOR" to all other health care insurance programs.

AS I SEE IT…..If it is so "VASTLY SUPERIOR" The President , all Congressmen and all of the Senate should switch to it.  And don't forget - Means Testing for the multi millionaires in that group.`

High Price Of Gas

In this country there is an abundance of natural gas. 

Wouldn't it be a good idea if Semi-Trucks could run on natural gas?

THE WAY I SEE IT the government needs to help truck stops install

natural gas filling equipment and help get the natural gas lines to
truck stops that do not already have the gas lines.

Nuclear Power

The last time the government approved construction for a Nuclear Power Plant was 1978.

China, India and other countries have been building Nuclear Plants for years and are building more every year.
Every time the utility companies talk about building Nuclear Plants in the USA there is always an outcry from environmentalist groups .  The news media reports that we will have major problems and then a picture of a mushroom cloud is shown.
Is someone supporting the NO-NUKE movement?  AS I SEE IT the only one profiting from not having Nuclear power is the coal, gas and oil industry.

Fairness

Today I was listening to a Focus Group on Fox News and they were discussing last night's

Arizona Debate.
The group said it was OK for Mitt Romney to make non conservative decisions as Governor.
Where it is NOT OK for Rick Santorum to make non conservative decisions as a Congressman.
AS I SEE IT, there is NO difference between a Governor or Congressman making non conservative decisions.
You shouldn't get a free ride just because you are a Governor.

Remember - No one is perfect except God and he is not running for office.

Do-Nothing Congress

Obama and his friendly news media are always talking about the Do-Nothing congress.

They blame it on the republicans, yet the democrats had control of both the congress
and the senate and they couldn't even pass a budget.
Since the republicans have had control of the congress this last year many bills have passed.
Unfortunately these bills are not even brought up for a vote in the democratically 
controlled senate.  So AS I SEE IT, it's a Do-Nothing senate, not congress.

Income Tax

I just completed my income taxes for the year.  As far back as I can remember, every candidate

running for office promised to simplify the tax code.  But from year to year they seem to get more complicated.  After printing out 38 pages of income tax returns for this year, THE WAY I SEE IT
on this issue the politicians are just speaking with fork tongs' .

Unwanted Jobs

If you listen to most of the media, Illegal aliens only take the jobs  that legal's will not.

So that means that there is no one today who wants to be an electrician, carpenter,
brick layer or pipe fitter etc…etc…all the same jobs that me and my friends wanted
when we were growing up.
These are the same jobs my Sons & Grandsons would gladly accept today.

Immigration

The news media can find as many as 6 to 12 or more illegal aliens on any given day , yet

the Immigration Agency can not find them for deportation.  However government can track

a cow from one side of the country to the other side and through several owners all in a

heart beat.

Goverment Internet

Living in a rural location I keep getting advertisements for government backed satellite internet service.

I think this is a total waste of tax payer money as the satellite service is way to expensive on a monthly basis compared to high speed cable. Satellite equipment has to be updated more often. Who do you think will have to pay for that? They should be using that money to run cable where possible. People who do not have the internet that are living within feet of existing cable are having the satellite installed and are having to pay a higher monthly fee for the slower service.
